On October 24, PLCN representatives from across all four provinces reported a significant slow-down in illegal logging, particularly large operations, inside Prey Lang. They noted, however, that small-scale logging continued. They credit both the PLCN patrols and RGC’s increased surveillance of the forest with motivating the decline. The RGC’s own increased actions began after the last PLCN patrol undertaken with participation of government authorities and followed by network requests for the RGC to strengthen forest monitoring. However, they remain concerned with logging by C.R.C.K and Teng Saravuth Company in Kampong Thom, and Chhun Hong Rubber Better Company in Kratie.
